- This is DOS handling the long file names. Don't let anyone fool you, DOS 7
- (and windows 95) do not have true "long file names". DOS 7 itself is still
- limited to the 8.3 file length, and Windows 95 only has long file names
- becuase they are stored in a index file. Regardless though, if you are using
- a DOS program, it will limit file names (or convert them) to 8.3 format,
- regardless of if the file system you are using has long file names.
